Julien Jalal Eddine Weiss was a French born classical guitarist who early on took up the Middle Eastern lute, the Oud, and then switched to the Middle Eastern zither, the Qanun, and got deeply involved in resurrecting traditional Arab music practice eventually forming the Al-Kindi Ensemble.
