This Sunday, WGXC hosts two radio production workshops for kids and adults, at its studio at the Catskill Community Center. This is a great opportunity to meet some of the voices of WGXC, to see what's going on at the Catskill Community Center, and to learn to produce original content for 90.7-FM!
GET YOUR SOUND ON: For Ages: 13-18. The Radio Explosion team -- (youth producers who have a weekly show on 90.7-FM)-- will lead this workshop on the basics of radio production. Participants will learn some creative radio production skills, including interviewing and recording techniques. Bring your instruments, music you've made, poems, ideas for radio pieces, and your imagination. On-site free childcare is provided.
HANDS-ON RADIO PRODUCTION (for adults). This workshop will address writing for radio, thinking about audience, how to record content, uploading audio to the computer, basic audio editing, how to air a piece, and more. Hosted by Cory Fischer-Hoffman, participants will collaborate to create a PSA that will air on 90.7-FM.
For more information & to register, email workshops@wgxc.orgMembers are also invited to come by the CCC during this time to help us REVIEW and RANK new program applications for 90.7-FM. We'll be at the Catskill Community Center from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.
