Music from around the world is featured. Bringing the audience into the realm of other cultures through music, hopefully expanding empathy for the “other,” and recognizing that “other” in ourselves. This week we present another concert by the Sarod master Ustad Ali Akbar Khan today, featuring two profound morning ragas. Opening the show and ending it as well as in between the two ragas we hear the voice of Asha Bhosle performing compositions drawn from the lineage of Ali Akbar Khan and his father. Her vocals are supported by Ali Akbar Khan and a group of other musicians.
