"Upon the Cypress Bough" is a showcase for music from an area fuzzily contained by Western Asia, North Africa, and Central Asia. Selections heard on the show come from traditional, religious, pop, art, and hybrid origins, but with some emphasis on less-Westernized tunes. The show usually originates live from WGXC's Acra studio.
