This special marks the fiftieth anniversary of the Shortcuts series of programs and the events, music and sounds that we've captured make for a dense celebration. Shortcuts first aired on November 17th, 1972 in the aftermath of Richard Nixon's reelection and the first short piece reworked his oval office speech into what I felt he was really thinking and feeling into reality through editing. I'm now gathering various interviews that I've done over the years explaining the process and history of the show, along with various comments and studio chatter that I'll intersperse throughout the program, beginning with a new montage that will reflect some of the influences on Shortcuts and myself. The program will also include the "Beginnings Mix" into "Shortcuts Through The 20th Century"
