Cairo Historical Lecture Series guests Bob and Johanna Titus, science professors and authors of popular articles and books about the geology of the Catskills and greater Hudson Valley, lead a journey back 20,000 years to the Ice Age. Whether you’re a roadside tourist, an art aficionado, a summer picnic fan, or an avid hiker, the Titus's suggest places that you can go and see for yourself the geological history of our local region. The speakers connect the geological past to the area’s history, culture, and industry and discuss how processes that occurred all those years ago are still impacting the area today. They also discuss topics that they are currently engaged in investigating, and a few they are planning for in the near future. Recorded by Galen Joseph-Hunter at the Cairo Public Library on Jan. 16, 2016.
