WGXC got a 3,300-watt non-commercial license from the FCC to start a community radio station that will cover most of Greene and Columbia counties. WGXC hopes to go on the air next summer. WGXC recently got a $71,000 grant from the Commerce Department to pay for half of the transmitter, antenna, and studio equipment. WGXC needs to match the other half of the grant, and raise $71,000 by March 31, 2010. Please help us bring community radio to this area.

The space will be well-heated and their will be an outdoor campfire for smokers. No smoking inside.

Find a partner to visit the kissing booth.

Pronto Taxi will be on hand with cars standing by to take you home if you cannot make it yourself.

Bring cash!
Main Street Pub will be serving chili and french fries and other goodies, Jason's Upstairs will have beer from Chatham Brewing and wine (and a champagne toast included with admission), and their will be coffee, tea, cider (from Strongtree, Verdigris, and Migliorelli Farm) and sodas.

ABOUT THE PERFORMERS/PERFORMANCES

Mother Fletcher is a rhythmic Hudson-based band.

Alpha Psi Ecdysia Burlesque, featuring Lucida Sans, Spartacus Rising, Gemma Stone, Angelique A'Lamode and more is the Hudson Valley's only burlesque troupe. Founded by production director Lucida Sans on the SUNY New Paltz campus in 2008, A.P.E. has risen from the nation's premier undergraduate burlesque troupe to "among the most ambitious producing entities in the new neo-burlesque", performing regularly in New York City, New Paltz, Poughkeepsie, Albany, Boston, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and beyond. "Dangerous-minded and infectious", A.P.E. features some of burlesque's finest ingenues in acts scandalous, bizarre, theatrical, grotesque, gorgeous and always sexy. The women (and man) of A.P.E. where their hearts on their sleeves and little else. They strive to be naked before their audience, even before the last panty falls.

Young Paris is a Hudson-based hip hop performer who will perform with Saber Coup at this event.

Bella's Bartok Western Massachusetts' premier Acoustic Gypsy Punk Circus Band, and sometimes Western Massachusetts's premier Gypsy Balkan Rockabilly Fusion Party in a Box (just squeeze).

Diata Diata The Percussion Ensemble of Diata Diata International Folkloric Theatre is led by husband and wife team André and Pamela Badila, accompanied by their children, who were raised on the stage in New York and France. Founded in 1985, Diata Diata presents folkloric dance of ancestral Africa as international theatre, including wildly popular performances at Hudson schools.

Hudson City Ramblers The Hudson City Ramblers were born on a winter night in Columbia County when slap bassist Mikey "Chops" LeConte invited Slink Moss to perform at a benefit at the Taconic Wayside Inn in Copake, New York. Slink Moss brought Aigars Kildiss and Joe Lucas from the Slink Moss East Coast Band and they jammed wildcat rockabilly with the house band.

Abby Lappen is a singer-songwriter, who lives in New York State's beautiful Hudson Valley, and performs in the northeast.

Rob Hervey of Saugerties has been studying didjeridoo since 1996 and plays the Australian instrument through a variety of effects.

Ryder Cooley is an inter-disciplinary artist, performer and musician. She will perform aeriel dances several times throughout this event.

Jackie Thomas is a Hudson-based DJ who has spun on WBCR (Great Barrington), and at many events in Hudson and NYC.

Lady Moon is a Hudson-based performer, who will play with Saber Coup at this show.

Evan Randall recently moved to Hudson from Great Barrington.

The Magic Stranger is John Cleater of Columbiaville, who is a founding member of internationally acclaimed Performance Group, The Builders Association, creating designs for many of their cross media productions. He has worked as project architect with Asymptote for clients including the New York Stock Exchange, Documenta XI, BMW Headquarters, The Guggenheim Virtual Museum, and Carlos Meile. He will DJ at this event, international psychedelic music from 1969.

Jim McCabe is a Columbia County resident who will DJ at this event.

Liv Carrow is a Hudson-based guitarist.

The Lottery at Hudson is a fictional work/radio play by Norman Douglas that uses the radio documentary format familiar to listeners of National Public Radio. Stylistic paradigms can be found in such programs as Joe Frank (now in reruns on WNYC AM Sunday nights at 11, wnyc.org), WBEZ's This American Life, WNYC's RadioLab, and even a few podcasts like the memory palace. "The Lottery at Hudson" is the small but intricately woven story of how a humble community of approximately 7500 souls living alongside the banks of upstate New York's mid-Hudson River transforms itself into a functioning utopia of sorts. What sort of utopia seems to have arisen largely from the appeal of one person's singular perspective, a multifaceted vision culled from various sources that an otherwise unremarkable teacher and student of history has stumbled across during his twenty-odd years of service in the field of public education.
