Literacy Connections is urgently seeking volunteers to teach English as a Second Language, and to work one-on-one with individuals. Our next Orientation Session will be held at the Hudson Area Library, Wednesday, May 24th from 2-4 pm. The follow-up session is scheduled for Wednesday, June 21st, from 2-4 pm at the same location or by one-on-one appointment. Volunteers will learn about the difference between Basic Reading and teaching English as a Second Language, Literacy Connections, other volunteer opportunities, and receive login information to begin the online tutor training module. You can sign up for the Tutor Training by e-mail to colgreene@literacyconnections.org or by calling 518-828-1792 ext 4. Literacy Connections’ Columbia and Greene County Office is located within the office of the Hudson Area Library and regular hours are Tuesdays and Thursdays 10 am to 5 pm, and Wednesdays 1-8 pm.
