The Hudson Area Library is showcasing Act I and Act II of a newly created opera, “A Thousand Splendid Suns.” The work is based on the novel by author Khaled Hosseini and composer Sheila Silver and librettist Stephen Kitsakos have been working for several years to bring this work to the operatic stage. Act I will be screened here, with a workshop performance of Act II with six performers and seven musicians on Nov. 18.
