She discussed her work, and in particular how she uses radio, to open up spaces for dialogue and reflection in post-conflict situations. The event was co-presented by the Oral History Summer School/Winter School and the Bard Human Rights Project. Kamara-Umunna is the founder of "One Liberia Radio," which began as a United Nations-sponsored show called "Straight From the Heart." It was created for the purpose of brokering conversations between victims and perpetrators of the civil war, incorporating the best that oral history and radio have to offer.
