Bassoonist Rachael Elliott and percussionist Thomas Kozumplik form a musical partnership grounded in chamber music, improvisation, groove, and sound exploration. They perform original works and their own arrangements of music by Philip Glass, Padma Newsome, and others. Longtime collaborators, Elliott and Kozumplik met at the Yale School of Music, where, together with Padma Newsome and Bryce Dessner, they formed the oddly beautiful chamber music group, Clogs. EK Duo has performed on stages ranging from the Sydney Festival to BAM, from Big Ears to the Knitting Factory, from London Jazz Festival to Amoeba Music, and points between.
