Burkholder’s series “Hidden Worlds in the Catskills” uncovers the natural wonders of the region with a process combining surveillance-style snapshots of wildlife and hand-worked, stylized photographic prints. To capture the images, Burkholder collaborated with hunters and wildlife enthusiasts in Greene County to select locations in known wildlife habitats in the Catskills. Local forest animals triggered the motion sensitive camera, recording a high resolution digital image to the camera’s memory card and simultaneously transmitting a preview image to an iPhone.
