As part of its Local History Speaker Series, the Hudson Area Library History Room presents, The Proprietors and their Lasting Influence on the City of Hudson by Carl G. Whitbeck. Whitbeck will discuss the founders of Hudson, a group of Quaker merchants from Nantucket Island and Providence, Rhode Island, who sought a fertile location to establish a commercial settlement, which eventually led to the incorporation of the city in April 1785. A question and answer period will follow the presentation, with light refreshments. Free and open to the public.
