In conjunction with the fall re-opening of our exhibit, Hudson: A History of Whaling & Maritime Commerce, we are offering a Teacher Workshop taught by educators Brenda Shufelt and Elaine Eichelberger and co-sponsored by the Greater Capital Region Teacher Center, with 3 CTLE credits.
Hudson has always been a “whaling town” in the collective imagination of people in the area and it has helped form our shared identity. When students learn about their own local history, the streets they walk on, the river they visit, they will be motivated to learn and will be able to better contextualize Social Studies concepts and facts. This workshop aims to give educators an opportunity to share this with their students.
The workshop is free and open to all educators. Registration is required and is on a first come/first serve basis. More information can be found on the library's website.
