Let’s come together and care for the land! This month’s volunteer work party will take place at Hand Hollow.

While floating in Meizinger Lake, participants will help care for this special place by removing invasive water chestnuts from the water.

All are welcome at this fun, friendly volunteer event!

What’s involved: This volunteer event will include walking .1 miles to the Jim Woodruff Memorial Kayak Launch and sitting and paddling a kayak for an extended period in direct sun. Please note that this event will start at the Gale Road entrance!

What to bring: Please bring a water bottle, sunscreen, and wear weather-appropriate clothing and footwear. Kayaks will be provided, but CLC welcomes individuals to bring their own kayaks.

Announcing the 2025 West Stockbridge Zucchini Festival, Saturday August 9th, 10am to 10pm! Rain or Shine!

The beloved all-day, Berkshire-based event celebrates our unique community and pays homage to everyone’s favorite staple summer squash: the Zuke! This year’s schedule will feature Berkshire County vendors, goods, artists, food, handcrafted Zucchini games, Zucchini contests, tons of live music all day, featuring post-rock electronic band Reliant Tom at 8:30pm, a live Fire Show performance by Cirque De Light at 9:30pm and so much more! The WSZF is a fun, inclusive and kid-friendly event. Come one, come all!

WSZF is a labor of love–sponsored by the West Stockbridge Cultural Council, 100% organized and run by volunteers, neighbors and friends. All festival games, contraptions, booths, artwork, and decorations have been dreamt up and handcrafted by the lovely folks in the W.S. community. All proceeds from WSZF games and merchandise go to the WS Cultural Council Zucchini Festival Fund for future community events.

Columbia County Sanctuary Movement hosts their 2nd Caribbean Festival in Albany, NY From 11:00 AM - 6:00 PM at Jennings Landing!

Last Year's Festival was one for the books! It was filled with good vybez, music, and laughter. The Caribbean Festival drew 2,500 attendees throughout multiple states. The Festival showcased 16 live performances, highlighting artist across various genres of music within the diaspora. This year's Caribbean Festival will boast an array of popular local and international musical and cultural performances. We will have traditional stilt walkers, healing stations, circus and other activities for kids, community resource tables, and more.

All are invited to join us for a day of community family fun with the Columbia County Sanctuary Movement.

Seed Song Farm hosts an afternoon of collaborative eco-art along our agroecology trail, followed by a relaxing evening of local beer, wine, and farm-fresh snacks. Come create, connect, and unwind in nature.

Forest Bathing is a Japanese practice. It’s a process of relaxation; known in Japan as shinrin yoku. The simple method of being calm and quiet amongst the trees, observing nature around you whilst breathing deeply can help both adults and children de-stress and boost health and wellbeing in a natural way. Beth Lewis Rennig will lead the group on a 90-minute Forest Bathing experience, helping to ease us into the presence and connection within nature, on the MTHS grounds.

A special family screening of Disney’s Encanto at Story Screen Cinema! Presented in English with Spanish subtitles. A Walk in the Park: The True Story of a Spectacular Misadventure in the Grand Canyon by Kevin Fedarko

All are welcome to come and discuss themes of ecology and humanity’s relationship with nature with other book and nature lovers in our reading and hiking club! Each month we will go on a leisurely hike with stopping points for book discussion. Some months will have guest lecturers.

Back by popular demand, Sarah Van Buren (SVB), Hudson Area Library's new Youth Services Manager, facilitates a third round of Youth DJ Workshops, for ages 9-18. This will include a series of studio days with a final performance when our newly trained DJs take the stage for the whole community to enjoy. Participants will gain knowledge and skills related to analog music-playing, a collection of their own vinyl records, and a chance to take home their own record player (based on workshop attendance). Yoga for Gardening with Pamela Martin at the Mountain Top Arboretum.

Sessions run Wednesdays from June 11- October 8; Class is from 3:15-4:15 (feel free to join us beforehand for volunteer gardening!)

You're welcome to join us for outdoor* yoga classes led by Pamela Martin and other local yoga teachers. Learn tips and tricks to avoid injury, and to help support the body during gardening and yard work. A stretch and strength class appropriate for multiple levels. Please bring a mat, water, sunscreen and bug spray. Wear comfortable clothing you can move in.

* in case of inclement weather, sessions will take place indoors in the Education Center.

This program starts just after our garden volunteering ends. Please feel free to join us for volunteer gardening.

We are stepping outside of the Hudson Area Library for our summer Fix-It Picnic, back at Waterfront Wednesdays! Hang with us by the river and experiment with natural dyes. Bring a light-colored piece of natural fabric (ex. 100% cotton, wool, etc.) or clothing and dip it into one of our community dye baths. As usual, there will also be plenty of time to work on the sewing, t-shirt weaving, mending, or crafting projects of your choice. The LikeMindedObjects team will be on hand with supplies and tools to help develop your skills. Open to all ages and skill levels!

You're invited to join Stewardship Coordinator Garrett Chisholm every Thursday to help tackle the invasive species that threaten the health of the Preserve. Volunteers will learn how to identify and manage a different invasive species every week.

Dr. Paul Spector is certified as a trainer with the American Academy of Sports Medicine. In this class, he shares exercises that improve postural stability, core strength, spatial body awareness, sensory integration, agility, and coordination. The class will serve as an important space for community through its focus on healthy connection, breathing, and its encouraging atmosphere.

This exhibition features artworks born from deep passion, showcasing surrealist dreams, captivating fantasy, and striking abstract landscapes. You'll discover pieces in a wide range of mediums, including painting, photography, drawing, printmaking, sculpture, and mixed media.

RSTB Presents heady Vermont psych unit Wet Tuna along with the nocturnal, cosmic vibes of Denver's Prairiewolf and Sloppy Heads (feat mems of Yo La Tengo).

Making its US premiere at PS21, Life in this House is Over is an original theater work from rising American interdisciplinary artist Samantha Shay.

An emotionally-charged, darkly funny, gut-punch of a piece, this large scale performance combines theater, music, and dance, which collide into each other in unexpected ways.

Inspired by the writing of Anton Chekhov, Life in this House is Over is a tragicomic work set at a funeral and a wake, entering a world beyond known logic to examine the social awkwardness, humor, and weirdness of grief.

Shay asks questions Chekhov posed years before: how do we move forward when an uncertain future presses on a dying past, where emblems of nostalgia are intertwined with the complexities of human suffering? Is connection possible in a world drawn taut by the force of imminent change?

The piece was developed at Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch, where Shay was a guest artist & researcher. It features artists from two significant theatrical lineages: current and former artists of Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch (including luminary Julie Shanahan, who returns to PS21) and the Polish Grotowski Institute theatre company, Teatr ZAR. A kaleidoscope of artistic influences, the work erupts from one medium to the other, refusing to impose a single viewpoint, leaving the door open for the audience to comprehend a myriad of themes.
