A workshop taught by Sarah Nelson and Emileigh Tanner of Wisdom Roots Wellness. We will merge our inner experience with the outer expression of winter for a time of productive rest by drawing on yoga, Ayurveda, and natural wisdom. The workshop will begin with a silent meditation walk around Lincoln Pond followed by Ayruvedic tea, and a discussion. It is advised to dress appropriately for the weather with sturdy boots and comfortable clothing.

'Matou' — Ruri Mito

The Japanese word “matou” denotes wearing, putting on, or being dressed in clothing. Figuratively, it also refers to the process by which the outer layer of our skin is continually renewing and replacing itself, much as snakes shed their skin. Matou, a solo performance by dancer-choreographer Ruri Mito, explores the body as a mysterious, haunted vessel, impossible to comprehend or observe in its entirety because it is in constant flux, its cells endlessly dying and regenerating. Kim Dunphy, in the Sydney Morning Herald, called Matou a “mesmerizing spectacle, ghastly and grueling, but also gorgeous.”

'Where We Were Born' — Co. Ruri Mito
In Where We Were Born, Mito continues to scrutinize and explore the body as the defining element of human existence. Choreographed by Mito and performed by the seven dancers of her Co. Ruri Mito, the piece weaves and unravels the delicately and intricately connected dancers, creating one kaleidoscopic body.

Paddington and friends welcome your for two movie adventures! In anticipation of Paddington in Peru coming out in January, we’ll be offering a showing of Paddington (the first movie) in the Hudson Area Library’s Community Room, followed by a screening of Paddington 2 at Story Screen Cinema later in the week. At the library, we’ll have free pizza and drinks for all attendees. Comfy clothing, blankets, pillows, and plushies are encouraged! At Story Screen, we’ll have a free small popcorn and small drink for all youth ages 18 and under. Both events will include raffle giveaways and other fun surprises! All ages are welcome!
