2024 marks the 17th annual ArtEast Open Studio Tour –– a self-guided driving tour to the studios of local artists. The public is enthusiastically invited and welcomed on two weekends: October 19-20 and October 26-27, 11:00am-5:00pm each day. Not only will you get a chance to interact with artists in their creative settings, but you will be traveling interesting rural roads in the beautiful countryside of the Hudson Valley during peak foliage season. The dream of every artist is to have visitors come to their studio and talk about their work. You will have the opportunity to ask them about their latest projects and you’ll find yourself absorbed into their world. With 25 artists on the tour, you will find artists working in a diverse range of mediums. If you think you’ve seen it all before, take a look at the website and get yourself a brochure and you’ll find new work and new faces added to the tour this year. Mediums and styles to be found are 3d/sculptors, fiber artists, photographers, folk artists and painters so there will always be something to see that will catch your interest.

Told entirely through innovative choral music that weaves together folk and jazz, Centuries explores legacy within families and communities.

Every Monday at 7:30 p.m. No previous singing experience is required. For most of us, our voice is our most important medium of expression. With this voice we can sing, we can praise, we can express joy or pain, and we can teach. But often, our relationship with our voice becomes disconnected. We underestimate the effect our voice has on our bodies and our lives. This workshop is a doorway into reconnecting with your voice and expressing yourself more fully. Through a series of simple tones, or notes sung for long periods, we gently begin to observe the relationships between the voice, the body, the breath, and the self. This workshop is not affiliated with any spiritual practice. All people are welcome, and no singing experience is required. There is a short introduction and instruction, followed by 30 minutes of a guided toning series, and open discussion afterward (optional). Open to the public, but donations are graciously accepted. Wave Farm in Partnership with The Avalon Lounge

Wave Farm is pleased to announce a unique opportunity, in partnership with the Catskill, NY performance venue The Avalon Lounge, for 2025. Two individuals will be selected from an open call for a 40-week Mentorship Program (February - November 2025). Mentees will learn the ins-and-outs of presenting independent and experimental performance in a community setting. Each mentee will receive a stipend of $5,000 in conjunction with the program. They will work closely with mentors Liam Singer (The Avalon Lounge, Wave Farm) and Ben Seratan (Basilica Hudson, The Avalon Lounge) on a weekly-basis to develop skills in sound engineering and event management, including artist relations, curation, booking, promotion, streaming for radio broadcast, and documentation. Mentees will also participate in Wave Farm’s “All Things Audio” a monthly workshop series, designed to help attendees develop sound skills to share their stories through best practices for recording, editing, and live radio.
