Weekly live improvised ambient music featuring David and Kenji Garland, Dan Kirkhus, Jimmy Garver, Rodney Greenblat and guest performers. Enjoy coffee and breakfast while floating on a cushion of ambient sound by adventurous musicians.

Every Monday at 7:30 p.m. No previous singing experience is required. For most of us, our voice is our most important medium of expression. With this voice we can sing, we can praise, we can express joy or pain, and we can teach. But often, our relationship with our voice becomes disconnected. We underestimate the effect our voice has on our bodies and our lives. This workshop is a doorway into reconnecting with your voice and expressing yourself more fully. Through a series of simple tones, or notes sung for long periods, we gently begin to observe the relationships between the voice, the body, the breath, and the self. This workshop is not affiliated with any spiritual practice. All people are welcome, and no singing experience is required. There is a short introduction and instruction, followed by 30 minutes of a guided toning series, and open discussion afterward (optional). Open to the public, but donations are graciously accepted. Ready to do the timberdoodle trek and waddle the way of the woodcock? This guided, sunset birding walk hosted by the Columbia Land Conservancy at Seigle-Kline Kill in Ghent, NY will hopefully teach you how.

Timberdoodle is a common nickname for the local bird species the American Woodcock. During this guided birding walk, participants can enjoy the sunset and trek in the hopes of seeing the Timberdoodle’s unique mating ritual and its distinct sky dance.

What’s involved: This event will include walking a mile on the meadow loop trail, which is mostly flat and includes mowed grassy paths that may be muddy.

Cultivate Your Green Thumb at the Annual Master Gardeners' Spring Garden Day

Presented by the Master Gardener Volunteers of the Cornell Cooperative Extension, this all-day gardening extravaganza features 16 garden classes. Whether your interest is in vegetable gardens, ornamental gardening and design, maintenance, or problem solving, we will offer up-to-date solutions. In addition to the classes, Marc Wolf, Director of Horticulture & Environmental Stewardship of the Mountain Top Arboretum will be the Keynote Speaker. Marc will explain how the Arboretum creates gardens and landscapes which celebrate our regional native trees, shrubs, and herbaceous plants, and provide the habitat that supports our local wildlife.
