A full day of events begins with breakfast at the firehouse on Third St., and ends with live music and a view of the Hudson’s Flag Day fireworks from Athens’ Riverfront Park. Take a ferry trip to and from the Hudson-Athens Lighthouse, learn about local history at the library and see artifacts at the museum, take a paddle-board lesson, rent a kayak or paddle your own. Enjoy local food and craft beers, bring the kids to visit Q.T Pie the Clown at the Bouncy House, listen to sea shanties from the days of the tall ships. Plus dance and jazz to book-end the Volunteer Appreciation Awards, along with a fine-art exhibition and wine-tasting at the Athens Cultural Center.
