No previous teaching experience is necessary to join literacy connections. New volunteers are required to attend a free orientation session, after which they will complete the online training, which can be adapted to fit most schedules. Our next Orientation Session will be held at the Hudson Area Library, Tuesday, February 18 from 10 a.m. to noon. The follow-up session is scheduled for Tuesday, March 17 at the same time and location. At the Orientation session you will learn about the difference between Basic Reading and teaching English as a Second Language. You will also learn more about Literacy Connections’ other volunteer opportunities. You can sign up for the Tutor Training by e-mail to colgreene@literacyconnections.org or by calling 518-828-1792 ext 104.
