On Monday, October 7th at 6:00 PM, the Hudson Common Council will hold a public work session to help determine whether the city will opt into Good Cause Eviction, following extensive organizing for a local opt-in by grassroots organization For the Many. The City of Hudson has recently seen rental prices increase by 36%, leading to a rise in evictions and widespread displacement of lifelong residents. While tenants have banded together to call for a strong local version of Good Cause Eviction, landlords have launched a digital ad campaign to spread misinformation about the law. Monday’s work session will bring together proponents of Good Cause and its detractors as the Council contemplates how best to protect tenants.
