Reveil 24+1 Hour Broadcast 2022
Wave Farm is pleased to co-present SoundCamp's ninth iteration of Reveil a collective production by streamers at listening points around the earth. Starting on the morning of Saturday 30 April in South London near the Greenwich Meridian, the broadcast will pick up feeds one by one, tracking the sunrise west from microphone to microphone, following the wave of intensified sound that loops the earth every 24 hours at first light. As daybreaks at Wave Farm, Reveil will pick up live sounds from property installations including Zach Poff's Pond Station and Soundcamp's Test Site of Acoustic Commons 1.
LISTEN / CHAT / PROJECTS
Reveil is a 24+1 hr radio broadcast that follows sunrise around the earth on Dawn Chorus Day, travelling west on live audio streams sent in by streamers at daybreak from their locations.
Streams are hosted on the live soundmap by Locus Sonus (ESAAIX, Aix en Provence) with the support of Creacast, France. The broadcast is hosted by Wave Farm (Acra NY). Resonance Extra are our UK broadcast partners.
Reveil will be mixed live in London (Soundcamp: Grant Smith, Hannah Kemp-Welch); Santiago (Tsonami: Fernando Godoy); Sunshine Coast (Biosphere Soundcapes: Leah Barclay); and Chania (Soundcamp: Maria Papadomanolaki). Reveil is produced by Christine Bramwell, Ciara Drew and Dawn Scarfe at Stave Hill Ecological Park, with the support of Rebeka Clark (TCV).
Reveil brings city yards, remote rural sites, fresh and salt water bodies into communication, creating a collective audit of planetary soundworlds over one earth day.
The broadcast is accompanied by a parallel programme of transmission works, talks, walks and remote performances by partners of the Acoustic Commons network.
Listen on Resonance Extra, Wave Farm WGXC, Sound Art Radio and over 20 participating stations.
