Ginger Radio Hour: Remembering Michael Hurley

Produced by Justin Maiman.

A year ago I was lucky enough to speak with legendary musician and artist Michael Hurley. This past week his family announced that he had suddenly passed away. Hurley was known as the “Godfather of freak folk”, but he called the songs he wrote “jazz-hyped blues and country and western music.” We'll celebrate his life, listen to his music, and play never-before-heard excerpts from the conversation we had last year.

Host Justin Maiman from Cairo, shares his latest inspirations on the "Ginger Radio Hour." The show features music, field recordings, performances, and interviews, primarily with people in and around the Catskill Mountains of New York live from WGXC's Acra studio.
