Against Nature
Jul 20, 2005 - Jul 26, 2005
theXpo at gallerie / Jan Larsen Art
63 Pearl Street (DUMBO) | Brooklyn, NY 11201 | 718-797-2557
Seven nights of live sonic events orchestrated by Tim 'Love' Lee to mark
the release of his new album, with paintings by Eric LoPresti and a touch of
drinking and dancing.
Music and artworks inspired by Against Nature, the
scandalous fin-de-siècle novel by Joris-Karl Huysmans. Huysmans' obsessive
language, fantastical plotline and bizarre interpretation of nature form
the backdrop for a week-long post-modern investigation into the synthetic.
Melissa Dubbin and Aaron S. Davidson will be presenting a new sound work in progress,
'Music for Future Films' this Sunday, July 24th, from 6-9pm in Dumbo.
