Manuel Cirauqui is a writer and independent curator based in New York, currently developing several lines of aesthetic research on radio phenomenology, the documental condition and the twilight of art criticism. He will be presenting Toward a Bodiless Resistance, a lecture written for radio. Cirauqui will be joined on-air with special guest Gregory Whitehead. Whitehead, who will participate by phone, is an internationally renowned artist and an award-winning writer, director, and producer of more than one hundred radio plays, essays and acoustic adventures.
Manuel Cirauqui has lectured at numerous universities and contemporary art venues including the University of British Columbia (Vancouver, Canada), Aalto University for Art and Design (Helsinki, Finland), Université de Rennes 2 (Rennes, France) and Universidad del País Vasco (Bilbao, Spain). He has also conducted various editorial projects in collaboration with artists, and his texts have appeared in publications and magazines such as Frieze, Lápiz, Kaleidoscope and 20/27, among many others. Manuel Cirauqui's most recent curatorial projects include: Jota Izquierdo: Region 4 (Cable Factory, Helsinki, 2011), Agusti Centelles: Photographic Journal of War and Exile (Hotel de Sully, Jeu de Paume, Paris, 2009) Jordi Colomer: Fuegogratis (Jeu de Paume, Paris, 2008), and La Forme Théorie (LAIT, Albi, France, 2008).
