Yet another crude oil train exploded Apr. 30, the same day New York state issued a report saying that 160,000 barrels of oil a day are transported through the state, and 82 percent of the cars carrying that oil are deficient and that the state does not have the staffing to properly handle spill response and emergency planning. Catskill Mountainkeeper Regional Director Kathy Nolan calls in after 7:30 a.m. to discuss the issues involved. The show looks at this news, and other new reports and past accidents, and plays railway-themed songs in between. Plus, Jeremy Young from Sontag Shogun previews their show May 3 at Spotty Dog Books & Ale with Patrick Higgins and Aaron Martin. Tom Roe hosts the show live from Wave Farm, interrupted by "Democracy Now!" at 8 a.m.
