Artist, producer, educator, Ann Heppermann, brings her Sarah Lawrence College students to Wave Farm and WGXC's Acra Studio for a live broadcast. Together, they bring you Carousel a world that only rides the waves of radio transmission. It’s a place where revolutionary movements rise up from the ground, girls in bikinis fight the patriarchy with herring, body snatchers drink frappuccinos, and dead men do tell tales. Carousel's stories collide to bring you a distorted world where radio functions as a mysterious plane of existence for strange creations to thrive. Warning: Carousel may include-cigarettes, deer, dancing orphans, bees, chemicals, manhole covers, arguing couples, daggers, gay uncles, and creamed herring. Carousel features works by James Bisno, Sarah Doherty Granoff, Gabrielle Greiner, Luke Hammerman, Ann Heppermann, Hannah Johnson, Nate LeBaron, Fossey Mettam, Richard Paek, Alexandra Pucciarelli, Cat Readick, Jeremy Slossberg, and Olivia Wohl. From May 10, 2014.
