The Hudson Valley Center for Contemporary Art (HVCCA) launches its third citywide, site-specific exhibition of cutting-edge contemporary art beginning the weekend of September 16 - 17, 2006.

Peekskill Project 2006 will host over 100 national and international artists, including painters, sculptors, photographers, video artists, installation and performance artists, who will work and specifically create engaging projects to transform the city. From the waterfront and historic commercial districts to Main Street and the HVCCA, art will literally hit the streets. Participating site venues will include local businesses, stores, galleries, Paramount Center for the Arts, the Peekskill train station, waterfront, parks and vacant lots around the city all connected with free public transportation for the duration of the opening weekend.
Visitors can explore the city in a way that they have never encountered before. The artists will draw attention to many overlooked sites by producing imaginative art installations or memorable interactive performances to energize the fascinating city of Peekskill.
