New York-based cellist and composer Okkyung Lee’s music combines the intensity of free improvisation and noise with more fragile and intricate sound structures. For these concerts, Lee teams up with filmmaker Andrew Lampert to premiere a new commissioned work that generates a complex environment of sound and image. Lee’s new music composition -- performed by Lee (cello), Cornelius Dufallo (violin), Trevor Dunn (bass), and Miguel Frasconi (glass instruments and electronics) -- is paired with Lampert’s signature blend of newly shot film, recycled footage, imageless projections, and distinctive live cinema techniques involving multiple projectors, props, and texts.
