The Deciding Mind: Neurotherapeutics with Dr. Mark Goldberg (Audio)

Apr 15, 2012
Interview by Mitchell Belgin and Shelly Menolascino.
This is the first interview for The Deciding Mind: Neurotherapeutics, Risk, and Ambiguity, recorded at the 2011 Society for Neuroscience annual meeting.

Our first guest is Mark Paul Goldberg, M.D., Chairman of the Neurology Department at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and professor of Neurotherapeutics, a leading expert in brain injury. Dr. Goldberg joins us to discuss some amazing new findings concerning the brain and newly discovered mechanisms for brain and artery repair:

“The brain is remarkably robust. Many of the brain’s systems have mechanisms that allow it to protect or repair itself. With the help of further research we can better understand these mechanisms and find new applications for treating brain injuries.”
