Composer and reed player Anna Webber's Idiom VI for large ensemble of twelve (winds, brass, strings, synth, and rhythm section, conducted by Eric Wubbels) centers around extended techniques: any non-traditional way of producing sound on an instrument, including multiphonics, alternate fingerings, buzzes, air sounds, key clicks, overblown notes... Composer Webber is a Guggenheim and Berlin Prize Fellow, voted at the top of a Downbeat Critic's poll in 2020, and acclaimed recording artist as both player and composer.
