John Anderson

John Anderson is one of the nation's leading experts on broadcast media policy. He's the author of the first critical and comprehensive analysis of the United States' digital radio transition Radio's Digital Dilemma: Broadcasting in the 21st Century (Routledge: 2013)). John has been writing about media policy and the practice of media activism for the last two decades. A strong advocate of remix culture, John has also produced his own mashup EP and continues to dabble in collage both scholastically and artistically, especially as it relates to culture-jamming. John is a Professor at the Brooklyn College Department of Television and Radio and serves on CUNY's Journalism Discipline Council, housed in the Graduate School of Journalism. He received his Ph.D. in Communications from the Institute of Communications Research at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign; his M.A. in Journalism and Mass Communication from the University of Wisconsin-Madison; and his B.A. in Communications and Humanities from Valparaiso University.
