Music for the Masses: Parranda Navideña (Audio)

Dec 23, 2018
We’re celebrating the holidays en estilo latino – con un asalto de sonido y sabor. The tradition of “parranda” – also known as “asalto navideño” – is the Puerto Rican version of caroling: Friends gather late at night and take to the streets, serenading and bringing Christmas cheer to asaltar (surprise) their friends and neighbors. Featuring jíbaro (folk) music such as aguinaldos and décimas, along with salsa, plena, bomba and more. Music for the Masses invites you on an excursion of sound and rhythm. Discover the music of established and emerging artists, both signed and unsigned, on the international music scene. Expect the unexpected. You might want to pack a map and a sandwich. For the avid globe-hopper and armchair traveler alike. Broadcast live from the Hudson studio.
