The award-winning author of Wetware (now a movie directed by Jay Craven) in a 1975 interview with Charles Ruas discussing and reading from his second novel, The Geek. The writer calls for an end to traditional, psychologically driven fiction and seeks to create a new kind of myth. The novel follows a man who entertains people at his own expense and examines the idea of identifying with a character who is subjected to constant degradation. Craig Nova (b. 1945) is the author of 14 novels and one autobiography. His writing has appeared in Esquire, The Paris Review, The New York Times Magazine, and Men's Journal, among others.
