Local Waves: 2025 Recap (Audio)
In late 2024 Wave Farm's WGXC started the Local Waves initiative, to create and maintain a digital library of new, local releases, with an on-air show (every Friday 8PM and Thursdays 10AM) and conversations hosted and taped by Mike Amari with local musicians, record labels, and event creators (every last Thursday upstairs at Avalon in Catskill). Over the course of 2025, an incredible 114 unique artists/bands submitted 900+ tracks(!) which Mike poured over and added to the on-air rotation. Combine that with the initial 2024 effort to create this Library, and from 2020 to 2025 we have: 500+ releases from 350+ artists, with over 3700 tracks sitting as 30gbs on our hard drives, waiting to be discovered by you on-air every week.
Here's a selection of some of those artists and tracks for your listening enjoyment.
