The Struggle for Economic Justice in Africa: Tiecoura Traore recorded at the John Connolly Forum in Troy, Apr. 13, 2012. A rail worker's son with a doctorate in transport engineering, Traore is the general secretary of the Mali Railway Workers Union SYTRAIL. He is famous in Mali for campaigning against privatisation of Mali's railways. Mali's railways were sold in October 2003 to the Franco-Canadian consortium, Transrail. Traore also played a role in the film "Bamako," an indictment of the role of the World Bank in Africa.
