Meant to Ferment: Rebecca Echevarria of "Meant to Ferment" (Audio)
Tune in for special fundraising broadcasts with WGXC Volunteer Programmers!
WGXC depends on the generosity of listeners to meet approximately 50% of the station's operating expenses. Each year it is critical that we raise $45,000 from individuals in order to keep WGXC on your FM dial, bringing you the delightful, surprising, entertaining, and challenging content you have come to expect: Radio for Open Ears!
Please dig deep and make a tax-deductible contribution to help us meet our 2025 goal at wgxc.org/donate!
Make a one-time gift or become a monthly supporter and invest in community radio with a recurring donation amount of your choosing. Choose one of the suggested monthly amounts or enter your own amount. (WGXC's current monthly donors range from $3 to $250). Thank you!
WGXC is a program division of the 501(c)3 non-profit arts organization Wave Farm, and your contributions are tax-deductible to the full extent of the law.
Want to donate with PayPal, Venmo, check, or even crypto? Visit wavefarm.org/donate for all the ways to support Wave Farm and WGXC.

In this special show of Meant to Ferment, host Rebecca Echevarria put together a show focused on Puerto Rican food / holiday / seasonal music. This show features both submissions from folks on the island and in the diaspora that remind them of this time of year and also a personal collection of music found along the way. Coquito, lechon, dancing, family, parranda, are some of the memories evoked in this show. In this month, for WGXC’s Pledge Drive to expand the Catskill studio, this show hopes to bring some joy to listeners and express the importance of investment in local community radio online, on air and on main street! Donate by phone, by mail or online. Like microbes, we can make worlds together.
