Making Waves: The City of Sighs by Alexis O'Hara (Audio)

Alexis O'Hara performs her work The City of Sighs and discusses her live performance practice with Darren Copeland. The City of Sighs is a piece for solo vocals and live electronic processing. In it O'Hara randomly selects a poster-sized cue card that serves as both a cue for changing the sections of her performance and as a trigger for emotional states associated with the act of sighing that are explored in each section of the piece. The performance was recorded at the NAISA North Media Arts Centre in South River, Canada on July 28, 2018.
