Jun 25, 2020
Produced by Tom Roe.
Donald Drumpf Theatre Vol. 180 Oklahoma! This week our hero watches the wind go sweepin' down the plain.
Thanks this week for the song from The Late Show ("Oklahoma!"), L.L. Cool J ("Mama Said Knock You Out"), John Williams ("The Imperial March"), The Beastie Boys ("Slow and Low"), The Donner Party ("Sickness"), and Golden Earring ("Twilight Zone"). Clips and excerpts from Rod Serling; Rudy Giuliani; Cartman; Richard Nixon; Kayleigh McEnany; J.L. Cauvin; Trevor Noah; Stephen Colbert; Seth Meyers; Katy Tur; Sarah Huckabee; Sean Spicer; Kellyanne Conway; Bill Barr; and Chris Hayes. An original radio theatre show each week, with most sounds culled from the previous week, about a fictional, theatrical presidency. Contradictions tell the story, with songs, skits, and clips from political news shows and late-night comedy routines. The definition of "radio theatre" is stretched here, with an updated Dickie Goodman and/or Richard Foreman-meets-mashup style sometimes, and a more straightforward take other weeks. Currently airing on 30 or 40 stations around the world, the network has ordered another 6 months of episodes. Anyone who would like to work on a production, or have their work air in this timeslot, should contact info@wgxc.org.
