Beakuency: Anne Bloomfield, Mark Dedea (Audio)

Apr 22, 2023

On today’s episode, host Mayuko Fukino speaks with Anne Bloomfield, a field biologist at Hudson Valley Farm Hub in Ulster County, about their American Kestrel habitat management project, which developed strategies to empower hop farmers to incorporate bird-friendly practices. She also shares wisdom on optimism in environmental work, and how we each can bring our knowledge and expertise to the table, overcoming differences to get where we need to go. Plus a mini interview with Mark Dedea of John Burroughs Natural History Society about their upcoming events. Along with a robin song by Welsh folk singer Meredydd Evans, music by Colorado-based artist Lack Lazuli, and loon field recordings by the National Audubon Society.
