Live from Fridman Gallery: New Ear Festival 2023 with Radial 8 (Kamran Sadeghi | Relaxer) (Audio)
The annual New Ear Festival fulfills one of Fridman Gallery's core missions—to help restore creative, experimental spirit on the ground floor level of downtown Manhattan. The festival showcases time-based art in all its forms—from sound installations and video screenings to storytelling and physical movement. Each evening is live-streamed via Wave Farm / WGXC-90.7 FM. Kamran Sadeghi is a Iranian-American musician, composer and interdisciplinary artist based in New York City. His album “Loss Less” was recorded live inside a defunct nuclear cooling tower. The audiovisual installation premiered at the Louvre Museum, Paris. Kamran will perform a new audiovisual piece titled "Magnetic Moments." The record was recently released on the Italian label SUPERPANG.
Relaxer aka Daniel MartinMcCormick is the founder of Lovers Rock Recordings, co-director / Sustain-release (2014-202), co-founder / Climate of Fear (2017-2022). Former projects: Ital, Mi Ami, Black Eyes, Interplanetary Prophets, Halal & Relaxer / Ital & Halal, etc.
Radial is a performance series exploring the intersection of live sonic art, electronic music and emerging expressions in sound and subculture. Born out of the desire to hear adventurous sound-system music in a focused listening environment where both the creator and audience’s norms are challenged. Curated by Kamran Sadeghi and Julia Govor.
