This month sees Annie Morrad (London) and Ian McArthur (Chongqing) playing live with a dense and harsher palette than their usual work creating a wall of improvised noise - Babble Fish will be an intense journey drawing on generative treatments of the field recordings Ian has been gathering on the streets of Chongqing - one of the world’s largest urban agglomerations and Annie’s freestyle sax manipulations. This is a new work developed specifically for this Wave Farm episode and it will be prefaced by earlier ambient collages and field recordings. Given the material and approach we are currently working with and the link up with Western China, we anticipate an unpredictable mix of sonic mayhem.
