This month, we feature excerpts of "Heaven Down Here," a chamber opera composed by Andrew Jamieson in 2014. "Heaven Down Here" presents and explores the story of the Peoples Temple, Jim Jones's California church community that ended in the infamous Jonestown massacre. The Cutty Strange, produced by Daniel Steffey and Nick Wang, focuses on select Bay Area artists with music rooted in the avant-garde, functioning in the world of do-it-yourself and community organization.
