In this broadcast, “Songs for Drella” by Lou Reed and John Cale, a 1990 song cycle tribute to their late friend and former manager, Andy Warhol, who died in 1987. Reed and Cale, two of founding members of the Velvet Underground, went their separate ways after Cale left the band in 1968. It took the impact of Warhol’s untimely death to bring the two together for the first time in more than 20 years.
Formerly called "The Morning Sampler," on this show host Brendan Donegan plays, "an eclectic mix of old and new blues, electronica, pop, RnB, country, Latin, rock, rap and a bit of classical music" live from WGXC's Hudson studio.
