Robin Papa from the Two Ladies Market, which gets started this Saturday at the Greenville Drive-In, previews the summer sales. In the latest Hudson Valley Word of Mouth segment, Julia Joern visits Stephen Petronio, world renowned and award-winning choreographer, dancer, and artistic director of the NYC-based Stephen Petronio Company. After participating in the Hudson Valley Dance Festival/Dancers Responding to AIDS, which took place in Catskill, he soon put roots down in Greene County. In 2018 he founded Petronio Residency Center in Round Top, solidifying the Upper Hudson Valley as the new epicenter for dance. This non-profit dance retreat is nestled in a 175-acre property perched high up on Crow’s Nest and surrounded by a protected forest, with views all the way to the Berkshires. Plus, David Rothenberg is a musician, writer, scientist and professor living in the Hudson valley. His specialty is the music and culture of animals and how they relate to the music of humans. In the latest issue of National Geographic he has authored a pull out section that takes actual songs of humpback whales and translates them into musical notation. Moses Nagel spoke to him about the research and art behind this story and the other projects he has pursued during the pandemic.

The show is a place for a community conversation about issues, with music, and more. Saturday the emphasis is more on radio art, and art on the radio. Unlike shows by individual programmers on the station, the "WGXC Afternoon Show" is considered partially station-run. The Wednesday show calls itself the "Drive-Time Show" and Sunday's is "Li Le, Le Tan."
