Japanther build 'Remote Audio Outpost'
Aug 21, 2012 12:14 am
Japanther (Ian Vanek and Matt Reilly, below) built a "Remote Audio Outpost" at Wave Farm in Acra. Wave Farm is a center for radio artists, that also includes a WGXC studio. As artists-in-residence, Japanther built this project with Jason Rutherford and Gardener Allen, as an A-frame structure with a rotary telephone tied into solar panels to power the mp3 recorder inside.[caption id="attachment_1214" align="alignleft" width="324"] Matt Reilly, left, and Ian Vanek of Japanther with free103point9 Executive Director Galen Joseph-Hunter in front of their "Remote Audio Outpost."[/caption] The phone will be set so anyone who picks up the receiver triggers the recording, and has hook-ups for live broadcasts from the back corner of the forest at Wave Farm.
