"Recorders, Recorders, Recorders." The possibility of using all the above possibilities presents itself in the event. Al Margolis (If, Bwana) with the assistance of the CO(P)E collective will present works for recorders of differing types - winds to anaolg to digital..in a 4 hour extravaganza (with some chatting and recordings being played as well - hell do we sound like marathoners?)- As a (probable) added bonus we will continue midnight to 6 a.m. with selections from Pogus, Sound of Pig, and just various favorite tapes from the archive. About Al Margolis, the ringleader of the festivities, from Wikipedia: "Al Margolis has been working under the musical pseudonym If, Bwana since New Year's Day 1984. He has since earned an international reputation for his experimental noise music. If, Bwana music is a fusion of ambient, industrial, and musique concrète sounds, often featuring strange soundscapes that are both balmy and unnerving at the same time. Margolis has also been very active as the owner of two prolific labels, the cassette label Sound of Pig and, since the 1990s, Pogus Productions, a CD label with a focus on experimental contemporary classical music."
