Naked Ear: Tools & Techniques for Sound Art
In this workshop led by artist Johann Diedrick, participants will have the opportunity to listen to subtle sounds in the environment with the help of mobile listening kits (handmade microphones and amplifiers). The workshop encourages listeners to reimagine their sonic environment by playfully exploring the world through their ears.

Listening & Object Session
Curator Kevin Repp selects a range of sound recordings and related archival materials from the collection of the Beinecke Rare Book & Manuscript Library.

Artist Presentation: Jennie C. Jones
Jennie C. Jones shares her sound work From the Low to Higher Resonance (2011–14) and speaks about her creative process.

Screening of Gil J Wolman’s L’Anticoncept (1951)
A sound film without images, L’Anticoncept projects stroboscopic flashes of light onto an inflated spherical weather balloon. First shown on the margins of Cannes in 1952, alongside experimental films by other Lettrist artists, L’Anticoncept was swiftly banned in France. A year after the original screening, Guy Debord commented that it is “more offensive... than the images of Eisenstein, which frightened Europe for so long." L’Anticoncept has been shown in America on a handful of occasions, and is featured today due to the generosity of the Wolman Estate.

Closing Reception & Sound Art Installation
Opportunity to browse installation of sound art projects by artist Johann Diedrick.
