The Deciding Mind

Jun 17, 2012: 11am- 11:59 am
“Enough about talking about me, let’s talk about what you THINK about me!” It’s an old bad joke. What is narcissism? Is it a simple myth, what are the spectrums of self involvement, what happens when an organization is run by narcissistic decision making? We explore these topics with two extremely prominent clinicians who have spent their careers focused on personality disorders and narcissistic personality structures. We have the great pleasure of presenting both Otto Kernberg MD, a major pioneer in the Psychotherapy world , Director of the Personality Disorders Institute at The NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, Westchester Division and Professor of Psychiatry at the Weill Cornell Medical College. Following Dr. Kernberg is his esteemed colleague Frank Yeomans MD, Clinical Associate Professor of Psychiatry at the Weill Medical College of Cornell University, Director of Training at the Personality Disorders Institute of Weill-Cornell, Lecturer in Psychiatry at the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons Center for Psychoanalytic Training and Research, and Director of the Personality Studies Institute in Manhattan. Join us for a wide ranging discussion about the many dimensions of both healthy and not so healthy “self” involvement. thedecidingmind@gmail.com "The Deciding Mind" on WGXC, 90.7 FM http://www.wgxc.org/people/1736 11:00 a.m.- 3rd Sunday every month Listen on the internet: WGXC
