About Wave Farm Grants
Wave Farm's Grants activities include Fiscal Sponsorship as well as the Media Arts Assistance Fund (MAAF), a Regrant Partnership with NYSCA Electronic Media/Film, which supports media art organizations, as well as individual artists, in all regions of New York State. The New York Media Arts Map identifies art and technology projects and activity throughout NYS supported by NYSCA Electronic Media & Film and the Wave Farm MAAF partnership.
Arts in Corrections NYS

NYSCA in Partnership with Wave Farm: Arts in Corrections NYS supports arts programming inside approximately 10 Department of Corrections and Supervision (DOCCS) and participating Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS) facilities across New York State. In partnership with teaching artists, non-profit organizations design and facilitate a series of 12-week, in-person workshops, providing system-impacted individuals with programming in a variety of disciplines including the visual arts, electronic media/film, music, and literature.
Media Arts Assistance Fund (MAAF)
NYSCA in Partnership with Wave Farm: Media Arts Assistance Fund (MAAF) supports electronic media and film organizations, as well as individual artists, in all regions of New York State. The Fund provides unique and critical support with a focus on sustainability and public engagement. Please direct all questions to info@wavefarm.org.
MAAF For Organizations

For organizations, MAAF provides funds to support technical strategies for online development as well as to hire outside consultants to support organizational and professional development. Eligible organizations have missions specific to the media arts, dedicate the majority of their programming to technology as an art form, and are current NYSCA grantees. Priority will be given to Electronic Media and Film organizations. Applications from multi-disciplinary organizations that incorporate art and technology will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
MAAF For Artists

For individual artists, MAAF provides support for the completion and/or public presentation of new works in all genres of sound and moving image art, including emergent technology. Grant awards assist artists in completing new work, reaching public audiences, and advance artistic exploration and public engagement in the media arts.
New York Media Arts Map
The New York Media Arts Map is designed for cultural organizations, artists, and the general public; it features organizations with a deep commitment to media art and to technology as an art form. The Map is a vital tool for identifying art and technology networks, services and opportunities throughout New York State, connecting us to each other and to essential information about Media Arts statewide. The Map features a variety of resources including a funding calendar, consultant directory and convening archive. The Map also identifies contemporary media art activities, events and initiatives on a local and regional scale, representing a broad spectrum of independent media practice.
Hosted by Wave Farm, the Map is a project of the NYSCA Electronic Media/Film Program, funded by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Governor and the New York State Legislature.
Fiscal Sponsorship

Fiscal sponsorship is a formal arrangement in which a 501(c)(3) public charity sponsors a project that may lack exempt status. This alternative to starting your own nonprofit allows you to seek grants and solicit tax-deductible donations under your sponsor's exempt status. Wave Farm provides fiscal sponsorship to artists and organizations on a case-by-case basis for projects that are aligned with Wave Farm's organizational mission.
